Digital Economy and Awqaf Ministers Discuss Launching Digitalization of 23 Government Services
Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Samirat and Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalayleh discussed, during a meeting held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the launch of a project to digitize 23 government services provided by the Ministry of Awqaf, as part of ongoing government efforts to expand digital services and facilitate citizens’ access to them.
The project reflects the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship’s role in enabling government ministries and institutions to implement digital transformation initiatives through technical support, coordination with relevant entities, and cooperation with specialized private-sector companies. These efforts aim to develop government services, simplify procedures, enhance service delivery efficiency, and improve the experience of service recipients.
The project will make the targeted services available electronically through the Ministry of Awqaf’s website, supported by an electronic system to manage the services and related procedures. This is expected to accelerate transaction processing and reduce the time and effort required to access services.
The 23 services cover several areas, including endowment services, donations and assistance, Quran memorization centers and Islamic centers, Sharia education and teachers’ services, Umrah services, bus and center licensing, as well as other services, including participation in the Hashemite Competition.
The project is part of government efforts to achieve the objectives of the Economic Modernization Vision and the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap, contributing to greater government efficiency and improved service quality.
The meeting was attended by officials from both ministries, representatives of OptimizA, the company implementing the project, and members of the relevant teams from all parties.
